Born into a farming family, I spent my childhood absorbing rural life. Spectacular colourful sunsets, shiny blackberries in hedgerows and pebbly beaches filled my palette. Alone and present in such an environment enriched my being.
One of my first gift requests was for paints and they appeared as a painting by numbers kit! This did not unleash my creativity, but nonetheless, I do remember the exciting sensation of applying the paint to the canvas.
Art for some years after that, did not feature highly in my life, but my spiritual quest did. The natural world, mountains, the sea, and the joy of colour merged within me, leading to a deep appreciation of the moment.
Now, I can honestly say that I lose myself when working, drawing on the inspiration of my human experience.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have my art and design business and gallery based in the wonderful town of Llandeilo, South West Wales.
